Journeying Through Grief is committed to providing a safe, respectful and supportive environment for all who engage with this service.

COMMITMENT TO SAFETY
The wellbeing of those seeking support is taken seriously. Every effort will be made to provide a compassionate, non-judgemental and confidential space for conversation and reflection.

SCOPE OF THE SERVICE
Journeying Through Grief offers pastoral listening, reflective companionship and spiritual support. It is not a counselling, psychotherapy, medical or mental health service.
Where appropriate, individuals may be encouraged to seek support from their GP, counsellor, hospice, social services, emergency services or other specialist organisations.

CONFIDENTIALITY
Conversations will normally remain confidential.
However, confidentiality may need to be broken if there is concern that:
• A person is at risk of serious harm to themselves.
• A person is at risk of serious harm from others.
• A child or vulnerable adult may be at risk of abuse or neglect.
• Disclosure is required by law.
Where possible, concerns will be discussed with the individual before information is shared.

SAFEGUARDING CONCERNS
Any safeguarding concerns relating to children, young people or vulnerable adults will be taken seriously and appropriate action will be taken in accordance with safeguarding principles and legal requirements.

Journeying Through Grief is not an emergency service.
